A la carte, more intimate, without subscription… What if premium rooms were THE good deal?

More and more gyms are distinguished by a premium offer that is often expensive, but which can turn out to be a good deal. And the customers are flocking. For what ? How ? To assess the relevance of these offers and understand the reason for their success, both in Paris and in the regions, 20 minutes reviewed the offers. Those of Monday Sports Clubwhich brings together the concepts Dynamo, Riise And Punch Boxing, and which offers a pack of three courses for 45.50 euros. And that of the Villa M., a complex with a fitness area and a boxing club, whose subscription, without commitment, costs 75 euros for the first month. With prices well above the average for standard gyms (30 euros for 4 weeks at Fitness Park for example), we have found advantages in them that are obviously not found elsewhere.

The guarantee of real support

Personalized customer files, progress monitoring, attentive coaches… These premium gyms put more effort into customer support. “The service is not the same as in a traditional gym,” underlines the marketing director of Monday Sports Club. Gyms make money from people who don’t come, for us it’s the opposite, we have no room for error so we do everything we can to ensure that our customers come back. »

And this involves reception agents trained “like in the hotel industry”, who welcome on a first name basis, coaches “handpicked” and trained over several months. “Thanks to the music, the unique setting, the service and the good humor, people feel at home,” says Chloé Bouscatel.

This support is possible because the classes are always small, no more than eight people in the ring at Villa M. for example. Furthermore, the boxing coaches are sometimes themselves “former champions in the discipline”, specifies the director of the premises. The teaching can be individualized so that the client feels good but above all, satisfied, which justifies the price of the packages offered.

A place of exchange and well-being

“People need to connect together, to interact with the coach… and you don’t necessarily find that in a traditional gym,” says Chloé Bouscatel, marketing director of Monday Sports club. Our members also come to experience emotions, it’s no longer just sport. » Beyond physical activity, Monday Sport Club, which will bring together its three concepts in a unique location during an event October 7 and 8 in Parisaims to create a “sanctuary of well-being”, by also offering conferences and workshops around sport.

For his part, Thomas Clipez, director of the Villa M. boxing and fitness club, insists on the “logic of sports-health prevention” which governs the concept of his center. The place also has a care and prevention center provided by professionals with the aim of “better protecting” the health, and “optimizing” the physical and mental well-being of its members. The place has also been labeled “Sport-Health House” by the Ministry of Sports and Youth and the Ministry of Solidarity and Health.

A comfortable, high-end setting

Obviously, nothing would be premium if the framework did not follow. And at Villa M. the decor is unmissable: treadmills facing huge bay windows, very green exterior, high-end sports equipment… From the decoration to the equipment, these rooms must be particularly comfortable. “Everything is taken care of, right down to the locker rooms and showers,” adds the director of Villa M. As for the Monday Sport Clubs group, we find the same requirements, with the addition of cosmetics from partner brands available.

However, these two concepts do not consider themselves “elitist”. “There are all profiles and all levels, it’s quite heterogeneous,” says Thomas Clipez. “People are still careful and the fact of being able to choose their course à la carte and not having a commitment or subscription allows for a certain flexibility and portfolio management,” concludes the marketing director of Monday Sports Club.

Ultimately, if you need more education, a warm atmosphere or you are looking for an intimate place to spend your sessions, your expenses will quickly be recouped by the service and comfort obtained. On the other hand, if you are independent and the crowds of fellow athletes during rush hour don’t scare you, a traditional gym remains a much better deal financially.
