A king goes into hiding: Mohammed VI. of Morocco and the quake – politics

A short video without sound – that’s the only thing the Moroccans have seen of their king for days after the big earthquake. Mohammed VI sits there in Djellaba with a fez on his head, surrounded by ministers and generals. To his right is his son, Crown Prince Moulay Hassan, thin and stiff as ever. His Majesty the King gave his enlightened instructions for a quick start to relief operations, it said. To this day, Moroccans are waiting for words of condolence, consolation and encouragement.
