A horse hits a spectator at the Séné racecourse

THE national trotting championship was marred by an unusual accident on Sunday at the Cano racecourse, in the town of Senna (Morbihan), near Vannes. In the early afternoon, a horse ran wild during a race.

The rider was ejected from his sulky (small horse-drawn carriage) and the animal continued on its way in an uncontrolled manner until it left the track, reports The Telegram. After having knocked down several barriers, he came to hit a spectator.

He was taken care of by the emergency services. His injuries were fortunately only minor. The horse was quickly subdued and returned to the box. The rider is not injured.
