A high school student from Colmar arrested after threats against a teacher

The events occurred Monday morning during the time of discussion in connection with the Arras attack and the death of teacher Dominique Bernard and the tribute to Samuel Paty, at the Blaise Pascal high school in Colmar. A student threatened to “crash” a French teacher, the prosecution said. Aged 17, the young man was arrested during the day at his home.

The teacher filed a complaint, said the prosecution, confirming information from the daily Alsace. He was brought before the public prosecutor’s office for “threat of crime against a person responsible for a public service mission” and was summoned before the children’s judge.

No criminal record

In the meantime, the young man, who had no criminal record, is prohibited from returning to his establishment. He is also subject to the curfew and will have to complete a citizenship course.

As a reminder, the Ministry of National Education announced on Wednesday “357 disruptions and protests” during times of tribute to teachers Dominique Bernard, killed in Arras on Friday, and Samuel Paty, killed three years earlier.
