A gymnasium opened in emergency for people on the street

While temperatures have suddenly dropped in Strasbourg, snow or freezing rain are announced for the night from Tuesday to Wednesday in Alsace, the prefecture of Bas-Rhin has decided “to temporarily increase the capacity of the immediate shelter for homeless people by mobilizing the Branly gymnasium” in Strasbourg from Monday evening.

The orientation of people is done only via 115, a free emergency call service. In order to strengthen the monitoring of homeless people, other measures have also been put in place and will be operational from this Tuesday evening, with the extension of the hours of marauding carried out each evening and the extension of the hours of day reception in order to to identify those most in difficulty.

The prefecture also recalls that it is important to report to 115 any person in distress in public space.
