A four-month-old little girl dies at her nanny’s home in Essonne

It’s a new “shaken baby” case. A four-month-old little girl died on Sunday, after having been taken care of two days earlier by emergency services at her nanny’s home, in Villiers-sur-Orge (Essonne).

The little girl was hospitalized on March 29 and “the medical examinations carried out on the infant notably revealed a subdural hematoma and fractures,” indicates the public prosecutor. This lesion is typical of “shaken baby” syndrome.

The nanny was placed in pre-trial detention and charged with violence leading to death without intention, the Evry prosecutor’s office told AFP on Thursday. A judicial investigation has been opened.
