  • In his evening video on Sunday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky reported that his country suffered attacks from 178 Russian drones, including 87 Shahed (Iranian-made) and 65 missiles, during the week. “We managed to kill a significant number of them”he says.
  • kyiv confirmed on Sunday that it had bombed two bridges in the zone occupied by Moscow, one in Tchonhar in Crimea, a peninsula annexed in 2014, the other near Henichesk, in the Kherson region (South), injuring one person and damaging a gas pipe which left 20,000 homes without gas. Bridges affected “are practically not used for military purposes”according to the Kherson occupation official
  • The Russian Defense Ministry announced that the armed forces had targeted several Ukrainian airbases, in western Ukraine. “The objective has been achieved. All designated targets have been hit”the ministry added.
  • A drone targeting Moscow was shot down by Russian air defense on Sunday, according to the capital’s mayor, Sergei Sobyanin. The Minister of Defense added that ” THE drone had been shot down in the Podolsky raion [au sud de Moscou]. There are no casualties or destruction”.
  • Serhi Slabenko, a former Ukrainian MP, was killed on the battlefieldsaid this Sunday, on Telegram, the parliament. According to the Volyn News Servicehe died in the Zaporizhia sector on 4 August.
  • On the diplomatic front, a meeting on Ukraine ended on Saturday evening in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, without a final declaration. According to Volodymyr Zelensky, the Ukrainian delegation highlighted its “peace plan” which essentially consists of the recapture of all the territories occupied by Russia, including Crimea.
