A former soldier rescuing animals injured during the war

It was the encounter with the dog, Gypsie, that was decisive in Tom’s life. Massive build, gentle gaze, unfailing determination, we recognize in this former veteran, a habit of war and difficult conditions in certain corners of the world. So desperate during battles, Tom sees himself getting back on his feet thanks to Gypsie, a dog soldier, present with strong compassion and comfort. A meeting that changed his life, “and it is also thanks to Gypsie that the association exists and continues”. Finding, caring for and giving animals a second chance is the mission of this entire group of volunteers, mostly former volunteers.

“Helping animals, but also helping people, nothing stops us,” says Tom, who impresses with his desire to go into mined terrain. War, natural disasters, conflicts of all kinds, the association “Breaking the Chains” has made it its daily life. With emotion and pragmatism, we gave the floor to Tom who came to 20 minutes to detail all of their actions.
