A fire breaks out at Europa-Park, the evacuated amusement park

Thick black smoke emanating from the Spanish quarter… This Monday afternoon, a fire broke out in the famous Europa-Park amusement park, located in Rust (Germany), half an hour’s drive from Strasbourg. Visitors would have heard several explosions at the level of the “Diamond Cave”, therefore located near the place dedicated to the Iberian country, according to France 3 Grand-Est.

Faced with this situation, the 25,000 visitors present that day were all evacuated. Meanwhile, firefighters are hard at work to contain the flames and prevent them from ravaging other attractions. On Twitter, the amusement park first mentioned “an incident”. Then, around 6:30 p.m., again communicated: “The fire is under control. The affected areas were evacuated and the park closed. Currently, no injuries have been reported to us. »

In 2018, a spectacular fire had already broken out and ravaged the Scandinavian district.
