A 53-year-old woman was indicted and placed under judicial supervision Wednesday evening for murder of a spouse, according to the Paris prosecutor’s office.
Sunday evening, the husband, aged 59, died of “a stab wound to the chest” after “an argument that arose” in their apartment in the 19th arrondissement of the capital, the public prosecutor said.

She added that she feared her husband’s reaction and “went to take refuge in her room before realizing that he was injured”, then “called for help and her children”. His daughters, adults, were absent at the time of the tragedy, according to a police source and the prosecution.

The investigating judge requested his indictment and his placement under judicial supervision, even though the prosecution had requested his pre-trial detention. The public prosecutor then requested a judge of freedoms and detention, so that he could decide on the security measures.
