A fairground union denounces the attitude of the town hall and announces a snail operation

While the town hall of Nice is going to ask the courts this Friday afternoon for the expulsion of the circus Zavatta, illegally installed since Monday on land to the west of the city, a union denounces the attitude of the municipality vis-à-vis -visit the circus people but also fairground people in general. According to the Fairground Active Defense Union (Udaf), which announces that it has filed a notice of demonstration renewable from March 7, the mayor “hits on citizens who simply ask to work”.

Udaf thus accuses Christian Estrosi of “doing the policy of the ostrich”. He “no longer wants to welcome [les cirques] because of the presence of wild animals”, while “there will certainly be a decree” on this subject “but not before 2028”, recalls the association in a letter addressed to the prefect of the Alpes-Maritimes.

Funfair and Travelers

But that’s not all. Eric Circéron, the administrator of Udaf, also criticizes Christian Estrosi for “withdrawing the right to exercise their profession” from “fairground industrialists” by “simply canceling the funfair in December in his town from of the year 2023”, he explains in a press release. He also denounces the policy of the city of Nice concerning travellers. There would be “no respect for the law on the reception grounds or large passages”, according to him.

The union intends to organize simultaneous snail operations from Tuesday, the day of the national strike, on the territory of the municipality of Nice, from 8 am.
