Following several reports, a control visit was carried out by the Occitanie Regional Health Agency in coordination with the Department of Haute-Garonne within the Ehpad Era Caso, in Montauban-de-Luchon in Haute-Garonne. Major dysfunctions have been noted in the areas of governance of the establishment and the care of the people received. Faced with this situation, ARS Occitanie and the Department of Haute-Garonne decided to place the Ehpad under provisional administration for a period of six months and the admission of new residents was suspended.
Several family reports
The Ehpad Era Caso is legally attached to the city of Bagnères-de-Luchon and accommodates 65 residents. Following several reports from families and professionals, an on-site control visit took place on August 1 by the ARS, followed by a second joint visit the next day with the departmental council and the Gérontopôle de Toulouse. The first observations of these visits revealed serious dysfunctions in the areas of governance, organization, continuity, quality and safety of care, support and respect for the rights of the people received. .
The families have been informed of the situation and the measures implemented, including the transfer of 7 residents to other nursing homes in the department in agreement with their relatives. The resources of the territory have been mobilized to strengthen medical and paramedical care within the establishment.
A temporary administrator was appointed and installed on August 3, with the mission of restoring the continuity of care, guaranteeing the safety and well-treatment of residents.
The situation will be closely monitored by the ARS and the departmental council to ensure the effectiveness of the recommended measures.
