A drug trafficking network supplying the northern districts dismantled

After eight months of investigations, the gendarmes of the country of Aubagne have managed to put an end to drug trafficking which fed the Consolat city, in Marseille. Nine people were arrested in eleven different places and 140 kg of cannabis resin were seized as well as weapons and ammunition, announced the gendarmerie. An estimated resale value of one million euros.

Of the nine people arrested, 7 were brought before the investigating magistrate on September 21 and 22, 2022 and then indicted. Three of them were the subject of a warrant of committal.

The operation launched on September 19 mobilized nearly 40 investigators from the Provence-Alpes-Côte-d’Azur gendarmerie region, supported by 135 gendarmes, including the GIGN branch in Orange. A helicopter and around twenty mobile gendarmes were also deployed for the occasion.
