a dozen suspects arrested after the lynching to death of a young

120 gendarmes, including the specialized intervention units of the Isère group and a GIGN branch, were mobilized this Monday morning in a large-scale operation in Villefontaine (Isère). Three months after the lynching to death of a young man of 22 years, on July 16 “near a deal point” in Villefontaine, the Grenoble prosecutor Eric Vaillant reveals that “a dozen suspects likely to be involved to varying degrees in this murder have been arrested ”.

These arrests, which took place within the framework of a rogatory commission headed by an investigating judge from the criminal department of the Grenoble judicial court, all took place “within the republican reconquest district of Villefontaine”. According to The Dauphiné Libéré, “The hypothesis of a territorial rivalry between drug traffickers” is mentioned by the investigators.

He had succumbed two days later

Left for dead on July 16 in the Fougères district, the victim was rescued by firefighters and a team from Smur, warned by residents. Transported into a coma, the young man succumbed to his injuries two days later at the Edouard-Herriot hospital in Lyon.

The murder investigation, which was then opened, has therefore taken a turn on Monday. Eric Vaillant specifies that as part of their investigations, the investigators benefit from the support of experts from the Criminal Research Institute of the National Gendarmerie (IRCGN) of Pontoise (Val-d’Oise).
