A demonstrator is seriously injured falling from a statue in Saint-Etienne

A CGT activist who participated in the march against the pension reform on Tuesday in Saint-Etienne seriously injured his head when he fell from a statue near the town hall, we learned from concordant sources.

Around 1 p.m., this forty-year-old brandishing a CGT flag climbed on one of the two bronze statues installed on each side of the steps giving access to the town hall. He fell on his head from a height of several meters against stone slabs, police, municipal and union sources told AFP. For their part, the Loire firefighters indicated that the man was in “very serious condition”.

The mobilization against the pension reform rose again on Tuesday in the Loire, gathering in particular from 8,800, according to the police, to 50,000 people, according to the CGT, in the streets of Saint-Etienne.
