A criminal explosion in the sewers injures one

The toll could have been much worse. This Tuesday, an explosion in the sewers in Garges-lès-Gonesse injured one person. According The Parisian, the explosion took place around 4:30 p.m. in the town of Val-d’Oise. Powerful, it would have raised five manhole covers at 24, rue Honoré-de-Balzac.

It is one of the plates which, by lifting, would have injured a passer-by in the leg. The 25-year-old young man in the leg was taken care of by the firefighters and rushed to the Gonesse hospital center.

35 liters of gasoline

The Sarcelles police, who intervened at the same time as the emergency services, quickly identified the voluntary origin of the explosion thanks to a witness who saw several people emptying several cans of a flammable liquid into the sewers, before set it on fire.

If the alleged perpetrators fled at first, one of them, returned to the scene, was arrested and placed in custody at the Sarcelles police station. The investigators also found four cans abandoned near the scene of the events in a building hall with a capacity of approximately 35 liters. According to the first elements collected, it would be gasoline.

It remains for the investigators to determine the motive for such an act.
