A corpse with bullet marks discovered in a pavilion

He hadn’t heard from his son for two days. A father who was worried about his son’s silence went to his home in Rambouillet (Yvelines) on Monday and made a macabre discovery. His son, aged 52, was “in rigor mortis in his pavilion” and had bullet holes in his torso.

The father immediately notified the firefighters, according to a police source.

Several long weapons were found on a rack, including one stained with blood. A forensic pathologist said one of the weapons discovered near the body had been used “at point-blank range”. An investigation into intentional homicide has been opened, according to the Versailles prosecutor’s office.

The father, a vulnerable person, was taken to the Rambouillet police station to be interviewed and searches for traces of powder were carried out on his hands. He was not placed in police custody, the prosecution said. According to the second police source, the deceased individual had a criminal record.
