a colleague tied up because of a possible intrusion in the Basque Country

This Thursday morning, the Particular Security Plan (PPMS) was triggered at Aturri college in Saint-Pierre d’Irube in the Basque Country because of “a possible intrusion”, explains the prefecture of Pyrénées-Atlantiques. This is not a Civil Security exercise. Children are currently confined to the facility and safe.

An intervention of the security services is underway in the establishment. The services of the departmental gendarmerie group (GGD) of the Pyrénées-Atlantiques are on site. “At this time, the gendarmerie services are removing the doubt, without difficulty at this stage,” said the prefecture.

A number for parents

For families, a telephone number has been set up at the direction of the departmental services of National Education (DSDEN): 05 59 82 22 01. The prefecture asks users and families not to go there in order to to avoid any obstruction for the security services currently on site. The prefecture also asks users of social networks to avoid disseminating false information and to be attentive to information given by the prefecture.
