The police launched a call for witnesses on Friday as part of the investigation into the organization of water fasting cures in which the naturopath Eric Gandon was indicted following death. The central office for the repression of violence against persons (OCRVP), responsible for investigating these cures organized by Eric Gandon, in particular in Quiberon (Morbihan), La Tranche-sur-Mer (Vendée) and Noyant-sur-Touraine ( Indre-et-Loire), calls for “new testimonies”.
The Caimades, assistance and intervention unit in terms of sectarian aberrations which depends on the OCRVP, wishes to collect new testimonies from people who have followed these cures, indicates the call, which indicates an email address to contact, witnesses- [email protected], as well as a telephone number, 0 800 35 83 35. In January, Eric Gandon and his son were indicted by an investigating judge in Tours after several deaths at the following these prolonged fasts.
Three dead in total
The courses offered by Eric Gandon for “several hundred or even thousands of euros” consisted “in not absorbing solid foods for one to several weeks without any medical follow-up being provided or planned”, explained in a press release the public prosecutor of Tours, Grégoire Dulin. During one of these courses, organized in a castle in Noyant-de-Touraine, a 44-year-old woman died on August 12, 2021, triggering the investigation.
