5:50 am: The results of the night, with more than 400 arrests
Despite the mobilization of 40,000 police and gendarmes, violence and damage took place all night long throughout France. In metropolitan areas, such as Paris, Lyon, Lille, Marseille, Strasbourg and Toulouse, but also in medium-sized towns, notably in Roubaix, Tours and Poitiers.
In total, there were at least 421 arrests at 3 a.m., according to an estimate by Gérald Darmanin’s entourage, more than half of them in Paris and the inner suburbs. They are mainly minors, aged 14 to 18.
