A barge caught fire, for a still unknown reason, this Thursday morning, on the Canal du Midi, near Bessan (Hérault), report the firefighters, who were able to overcome the flames. The tourist boat, about 12 meters long, ended up sinking.
The operation required the intervention of firefighters from Hérault, a team specializing in ship fires from Sète, and water rescuers. The Hérault fire and rescue service specifies that it is not known, for the moment, whether the disaster has caused pollution of the canal. There were no casualties.
