A 55-year-old skier dies in an avalanche in the Hautes-Alpes

His wife, at the foot of the track, quickly alerted the emergency services. According to information collected by Provencethe man was moving off-piste, without an avalanche victim detector (DVA), safety equipment allowing the rapid location of a skier caught in a slide.
