Some will salute his courage, others will criticize his unconsciousness. On Sunday, a 4×4 vehicle crossed the Passage du Gois from the mainland to Noirmoutier (Vendée) while the rising tide had largely covered the road. Several curious people attended the scene, as evidenced by a video
posted on Facebook and spotted
by West France.
Filmed from a great distance, the vehicle seems to have entered long after the sea began to cover the road. A dangerous behavior often denounced by the locals, who are annoyed to see some reckless people braving the traffic advice hammered during the summer period. The tide times and crossing advice are however displayed on both sides of the famous passage. Comment from the author of the video: “This is what I call an irresponsible”.
A woman who drowned last year
A rather rare attitude but which regularly causes the intervention of the emergency services. Last year, a woman drowned, trapped by the rising tide. A few days before crossing the 4×4, a SNSM star had already had to intervene
to tow a motorhome stuck on the passage to Noirmoutier.
