The Nanterre public prosecutor’s office opened two investigations, one for refusal to comply and attempted intentional homicide against a person holding public authority and another for intentional homicide by a person holding public authority.
A 17-year-old minor was killed on the morning of Tuesday June 27 in Nanterre after refusing to comply, franceinfo learned from the Nanterre prosecutor’s office. According to the first elements of the investigation entrusted by the Nanterre prosecutor’s office and a source close to the investigation, three people were in a car shortly after 8 a.m.
One of the three people on board, aged 17, was shot following the refusal to comply, his death was declared at 9:15 a.m. “following at least one gunshot wound”, specifies the parquet floor of Nanterre. First, the police explained that after refusing to comply, the vehicle then drove into a police officer who fired his weapon, after which the vehicle crashed into a post.
But according to the first elements of the investigation reported a few hours later by a police source to franceinfo, the driver first stopped before accelerating. Also according to this source, the driver of the vehicle, a Mercedes AMG which had been rented, had committed several traffic violations.
In addition, a video, posted on Twitter by a witness that franceinfo was able to contact, shows two police officers – bikers – checking the driver of a yellow car. One of the two stands at driver’s level and points his weapon point-blank in the direction of the motorist. When the latter restarts, the policeman who is still on the side of the vehicle very close to the driver shoots, the car ends its race a few meters further, embedded in a post.

One of the police officers involved was taken into custody for “voluntary homicide”, said the Nanterre prosecutor’s office on Tuesday evening in a press release. The police custody of the second passenger of the vehicle arrested after the facts was lifted at the beginning of the afternoon after his hearing. The third passenger who fled is still wanted.
The family of the slain 17-year-old minor will file a complaint for intentional homicide against the police officer who shot the young man, their lawyers announce.
