The outing between teenagers turned tragic on Tuesday afternoon on the banks of Lac de la Ramée in Toulouse. The firefighters were notified around 5:30 p.m. They fished out the young victim in cardiopulmonary arrest and were unable to resuscitate him. He was pronounced dead around 8 p.m.
According to the first elements of the investigation, entrusted to the police officers of the judicial support group, the teenager had come to spend this afternoon of school holidays on the banks of the lake located on the border of Toulouse and Tournefeuille. He decided to go swimming in the still freezing water on one of the first spring days in the Pink City. For now, the preferred track is that of a hydrocution.
The metropolitan lake of La Ramée is authorized for swimming only in summer. It has been the scene of several drownings in recent years.
