An anti-covid mask made in France qualified for the Tokyo Olympics. The Marseille-based company Proneem has developed, in partnership with the French National Olympic and Sports Committee, a filtering and breathable mask for practicing sport: the viralstop mask. It will equip the athletes of the French delegation for the next Olympic Games in Tokyo this summer, thanks to its unique properties.
“The textiles come from the excellence of French technicality with a particular mesh which allows 100% filtration, but also and above all very good breathability with 600l / m2 / seconds. The breathability for a sport mask with moderate activity is 400l / m2 / second while a surgical mask allows a breathability of 100l / M2 / second. This breathability offers a lightness that makes you forget the mask during practice, which is very important ”, underlines Nathalie Hagege, founder and director of Proneem.
Filtering, breathable and virucidal
The Viralstop mask meets the Afnor Standard, since it was developed by the company Proneem in partnership with the authorities. Its design was carried out with high level athletes to provide them with maximum protection, in complete comfort. “We worked with players from different sports to develop a breathing cage between the nose and the chin. The ergonomics of the mask, as well as the support by the elastic bands, allow good visibility in 3D, without the athlete having to think about his breathing and without the risk of getting caught in contact sports such as rugby ”, Nathalie Hagege details.
Perfect filtration combined with very good breathability, but the Viralstop mask goes even further thanks to the virucide technology developed by Proneem. “The mask is impregnated on the outer tissue with Viralstop technology, which is a virucide that destroys the membrane of the virus cell. If you have the virus on your hands and you touch your mask, the virus will be killed after a few minutes. This technology takes on all its importance in sports halls where distance is reduced, with projections in the air, ”explains the founder of Proneem, who has already sold nearly three million masks with this technology to the general public.
12 euros, or a few cents per workout
“From a health point of view, this mask provides an additional guarantee thanks to Viralstop technology. It is made with the most filtering and permeable fabrics at the same time, which offers good conditions for the practice of our athletes. We decided to equip them with this mask for the Tokyo Olympics by providing them with three or four masks, in addition to the surgical masks recommended by the organizers ”, announces Denis Masseglia, president of the CNOSF.
This mask for athletes is marketed at 12 euros from this Thursday, with the possibility of washing it 20 times up to 60 ° C without losing its properties. With washing every three or four uses, the workout costs about 80 cents. And the Proneem company will donate 10 cents per mask sold to the sports solidarity fund.
