Jungle camp
“We were never apart”: Heinz Hoenig talks about his marriage and his jungle favorite
Although he did well, Heinz Hoenig had to break off the jungle camp after more than a week. Back in freedom, he was welcomed by his wife Annika and their children – and chatted about his special marriage.
Heinz Hoenig and his wife Annika are reunited
Hoenig, on the other hand, was happy. For the 72-year-old, moving out meant a reunion with his wife Annika Kärsten-Hoenig and their children. On Wednesday they appeared together in front of the camera and told how they were currently doing in an interview for the jungle show “The Hour After.” “Twelve days – we’ve never been apart for so long. And you also rediscover yourself and your partner again. You reflect on your own relationship,” says Hoenig’s wife. “The separation gave us a lot as a couple. We are coming out of this time stronger,” she explained. “We were never apart. Now we’re together again,” her husband agreed.
Hoenig also said he didn’t lose any energy during the camp. He didn’t talk about any specific engagements back home, but his wife took over. “We’ll be on stage together soon,” she revealed.
Hoenig keeps his fingers crossed for Fabio
Hoenig also revealed who he sees on the jungle throne. Unsurprisingly, he could imagine Fabio Knez winning. At least he would be happy for him. The treasure hunt together made them a team, says Hoenig. “I would also like to visit him, and I will do that,” said the “Das Boot” star.
Hoenig and Annika Kärsten-Hoenig, who is 34 years younger, have been married since 2019, and their two sons were born in 2020 and 2022. In honor of her husband, she recently had a koala pierced under her skin. “Because a koala loves to sleep and also represents a super friendly creature and I think that we have now recognized that with Heinz, that it is sleeping inside him,” she explained.
