New album by The National: Polaroid reflections on the culture of the noughties

The people on the lookout towers disagree. Some say that a cultural revival of the 2000s, i.e. the so-called noughties, has long since taken place, on the red carpets, in pedestrian zones and late night programs. The others, on the other hand, claim that such a revival can never happen. It was a typical feature of the decade in question that the idea of historical revival cycles finally lost its meaning here. Firstly, because most of the phenomena of the time were themselves built on cultural assets that had sunk earlier and then returned. And because, even more importantly, there have not been any comprehensively valid trend events since the noughties, since everything can exist wonderfully parallel in the countless channels of the Internet.
