After Rod Stewart had to cancel appearances in Australia last year, a virus infection is now thwarting his plans again.

British musician Rod Stewart (78) has canceled a planned performance in Australia due to a virus infection. Stewart (“Maggie May”) wrote on Twitter that he was very sad to have to disappoint his fans who bought tickets for the performance in Geelong.

“Late this morning I found out that I have a viral infection and my throat is too sore to sing,” the Brit tweeted. “I’m only human and sometimes sick.” He’s working hard to get back on stage.

In addition to the show in Geelong, six more concerts with Stewart are planned in Australia until April 2nd. Because of the Covid pandemic, the artist had to cancel performances in Australia last year. His last album “The Tears of Hercules” (2021) reached number five in the British charts and was temporarily number 17 in the German charts.
