Breathe easy in Schwäbisch Hall. The police have arrested a man who is said to have killed several elderly women.

He is said to have murdered at least three pensioners: the police in Baden-Württemberg arrested a suspected serial killer. The DPA news agency found out. The “Bild” newspaper had previously reported on the arrest. The police invited to a press conference called at short notice in Schwäbisch Hall on Wednesday afternoon and announced further details about the results of the investigation.

Serial killers in the Schwäbisch Hall region

The man is suspected of having attacked and killed three senior citizens in the apartments in northern Baden-Württemberg since October 2020, the last of the acts occurred last Wednesday in the municipality of Michelbach (Schwäbisch Hall district).

About two weeks ago, the same man is said to have threatened a pensioner in his apartment building in Ilshofen (also in the Schwäbisch Hall district) with a gun and hit him in the face to steal money. The police headquarters in Aalen then published an identikit of the perpetrator. A special commission has been investigating the murder cases since December 2022.

More on this shortly at this point.
