CSU deletes controversial Söder clip on video platform Tiktok – Bavaria

The short video shows Söder and several young women while a song by the US band Bloodhound Gang is playing. In this one is unmistakably asked to have sex. The CSU is trying to limit the damage.

The CSU has deleted a controversial clip with its party leader Markus Söder on the Tiktok video platform. The eight-second spot was actually only supposed to advertise a question and answer session on the platform. The clip initially showed young women looking obviously surprised and then a hard cut to Söder, who was sitting at a desk. The song “The Bad Touch” by the US band Bloodhound Gang can be heard in the background, which is less about political issues and more about the singer’s unequivocal and offensive request to a woman to have sex. The video can still be found frequently on Twitter.

This had caused critical voices and outrage on social networks. “The ironically intended clip was posted by the young social media team of the state leadership on the party’s Tiktok channel. The party chairman had no knowledge of it,” said a CSU spokesman on Wednesday. After the party leadership found out about the video, “an immediate deletion was initiated”. “We very much regret any misunderstandings or injuries.”
