While it has thousands of empty houses whose shutters remain closed for a good part of the year, it does not manage to house all its inhabitants. On the coast, newcomers must move away from the seaside if they want to find a roof all year round. Let’s not even talk about seasonal workers. Guest this morning on France Bleu Armorique, the president of the region repeated it and promised to remind the minister to support his request for classification in a tight zone. “We said that we did not want to end up with orders or decrees taken in Paris which set the number of municipalities which would be declared in tense areas. Last year, the region opened some of its boarding schools to house summer workers. “It is indecent to leave beds empty during the months of June, July, August, when young people, seasonal workers, are looking for accommodation,” said the president of the region.
