Zelenskyy: Drone strikes are useless – Ukrainians are united
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy considers the Russian drone strikes useless. In the first two days of the new year alone, the Ukrainian army was able to render over 80 enemy drones harmless, says Zelenskyj in his nightly video message. In the next few weeks, the nights are not likely to be restful for the Ukrainians. But the Russian attacks would prove futile as the Ukrainians stood together. The Russians, on the other hand, are only united by fear.

EPP boss Weber: EU states must work together more closely militarily
As a lesson learned from the Russian war of aggression against Ukraine, the head of the European People’s Party (EPP), Manfred Weber, calls for much more intensive military cooperation in the EU. “The EU states must finally start building a European defense union,” Weber told the Bayern media group. There must be common EU rules for the export of armaments so that a common European defense industry can emerge. “And we need joint projects such as the development of a missile defense shield for the EU. Chancellor Scholz and French President Macron are in the process of missing a historically decisive course,” said Weber.
