Schulwerk fires a teacher who had a relationship with a student – Bavaria

The Schulwerk Augsburg has now dismissed the teacher, who had a relationship with a high school graduate at his former school and had been teaching at a grammar school run by the Catholic institution in Dillingen, Swabia, since the summer. At first, the Schulwerk justified his employment by saying that the teacher showed remorse and therefore deserved a second chance. At a parents’ meeting at his current school at the end of October, the vast majority expressed their confidence in those responsible for this decision.

But when public criticism persisted and Johannes Heibel, chairman of the “Initiative against violence and sexual abuse of children and young people,” protested against the teacher’s continued work, school director Peter Kosak reacted. “To calm the situation for everyone involved,” he decided to only let the teacher teach until March and then transfer him to the IT department of the carrier.

Contrary to this announcement, Schulwerk released the teacher from work at the end of last week. Kosak justified the recent about-face with conversations he had with the person concerned, who is now studying, and with another former student. According to SZ information, she is said to have submitted a chat history that documents how the teacher tried to approach her too. He had probably denied this a few months ago when he was hired. With that, says Kosak, the relationship of trust for further employment, also in the administration of the school authority, was destroyed.
