Young Munich Symphony Orchestra in Höhenkirchen – district of Munich

This Sunday, November 27th, the auditorium of the Gymnasium Höhenkirchen will be the scene of a special concert: The Young Munich Symphony Orchestra want to demonstrate their class there, for example in the performance of Tchaikovsky’s Fifth Symphony in E minor. This allows the high school’s Hösi Symphony Orchestra to distinguish itself in interaction with the Munich ensemble, which is primarily made up of ambitious students: “It is both a special pleasure and an honor that our students can perform two pieces together with the experienced orchestra musicians”. , says Headmistress Claudia Gantke.

At the beginning of the evening, both orchestras will perform the orchestral arrangement “Sleepers Wake” from Johann Sebastian Bach’s cantata “Wachet auf” and the great march from Richard Wagner’s “Tannhäuser”. After that, the Georgian violinist Anna Kakutia will take on the role of the characteristic solo violin in Eduard Lalo’s Symphonie Espagnole. And finally, Tchaikovsky’s gripping Fate Symphony No. 5.

After the premiere in 2019, the Junge Münchner Symphoniker will once again be giving a special concert at the Höhenkirchner Gymnasium. Behind this is also the concern of the orchestra and school, “to bring classical music to life locally and also to initiate bridges and opportunities for understanding between students and experienced musicians,” says Gantke. Admission is free, the concert starts at 7 p.m. In addition to students and teachers, guests are also invited.
