At the start of the nine-euro ticket in June, Stadtwerke Augsburg want to “send out all the vehicles that we have available,” says spokesman Jürgen Fergg. “Even older ones that we don’t actually use anymore, which aren’t barrier-free either.” Nothing should go wrong at the start with Augsburg’s range of buses and trams, local transport should also be prepared for a large rush. And then it’s a matter of staying flexible: “We’ll see how things go, there will probably be more demand for individual connections than others, and we’ll react to that.”
