7621 demonstrators arrested in Russia: We see you! – Politics abroad

Kremlin tyrant Wladimir Putin (69) fights against all of us in Ukraine: against our values, against democracy, against our freedom.

During the Kremlin despot on his dark campaign of conquest bombs on civilians lets throw and has the word “war” banned in their own country, there is also light in the dark. More and more people in Russia are peacefully defending themselves against Putin’s lies and propaganda.

Thousands demonstrate on the streets, demanding an end to the bloody invasion – the police brutally crack down on them. The Russian authorities warn against participation. Demonstrations are not allowed under the pretext of security against infection in the corona pandemic.

Nevertheless, people don’t give way – although they have to fear being put in jail, maybe even beaten up. Just because they take to the streets peacefully and can’t stand Putin any longer.

It’s not Russia’s war, it’s Putin’s war, as Chancellor Olaf Scholz (63, SPD) said in the Bundestag on Sunday. “Citizens in many Russian cities have protested against Putin’s war over the past few days, accepting arrest and punishment. It takes great courage and great bravery,” he said. “We stand with all those in Russia who bravely defy Putin’s power apparatus and oppose his war against Ukraine. We know they are many. I say to all of you: don’t give up!”

They are the brave people of Putin’s Russia. They covet against the ruthless Kremlin. You are the true soul of proud Russia. They don’t want war. They are the ones we must not forget.

7621

7621 People – Heroes – Anti-War – Kremlin Critic. 7621 arrests (as of March 3, 2022, 2 a.m.) since Thursday at demonstrations across the country – at least!

► More than 3000 in Moscow, around 2100 in St. Petersburg. To sit here according to OWD info at least 292 and 305 people respectively still in prison.

But not only in the big, well-known cities of the giant country is demonstrated. People also took to the streets in Yekaterinburg, Krasnodar, Novosibirsk, Ufa and Nizhny Novgorod – the list goes on forever, because there were protests in a total of 103 cities. But the picture is the same everywhere: arrests by troops loyal to Putin.

A friend of mine who I once met in Novosibirsk recently wrote me an emotional message: “Putin is going to throw anyone in jail or ban them from the country who are against him. Even ordinary people who just say something publicly against him.” He asked himself: “I just don’t know what kind of people work in the police force who obey orders like that”.

But maybe that’s where the hope lies: “Maybe this will be the moment when Russian people will stop speaking out for fear of the Kremlin,” he wrote. Because: “Then we can stand together and come together as one nation.”

On Wednesday, Kremlin critic Alexei Navalny demanded of all Russians: Stand up against Putin!
