75 hectares go up in smoke in Néfiach, eight firefighters injured

The alert was given around 3 p.m., when the wind was blowing at 60 km / h in the area. Quickly on the scene, the firefighters had to cut the national road 116 to be able to intervene. It was reopened this Monday morning.

Investigation opened to determine the origin of the fire

Two Dash water bombers as well as four Civil Security canadairs and a helicopter had to intervene to help contain the fire.

On the ground, more than 250 firefighters were mobilized in the evening to fight the flames and a hundred people had to be evacuated. While fighting the fire, eight firefighters were injured, including two with burns to the limbs, Sdis said. An investigation was opened to determine the origin of the incident.
