It must have been a scene straight out of one of those cheap disaster movies: Shortly after take-off on a domestic Alaska Airlines flight, there was suddenly a loud bang and a piece of the outer paneling flew off. There was a rapid drop in pressure in the cabin and the plane was able to make an emergency landing. No one was seriously injured, also because all passengers were wearing seatbelts. Given the pictures of a door-sized gaping hole in the Boeing type plane 737 Max-9 it’s almost like a miracle.
