His body was discovered after dark, in a ditch filled with water, 200 meters from his home. A resident of Merville, a village located about twenty kilometers north-west of Toulouse, was killed on Monday. The 73-year-old victim left on foot from his home at around 7:30 a.m. Her husband, worried not to see her return, had warned the police of her disappearance in the morning.
To find her, the gendarmes hired a helicopter and specialized dogs. Their research was made complicated, all day, by the torrential rains. But, from a source close to the investigation, the septuagenarian would not have been a victim of bad weather. An investigation has been opened to determine the causes of his death.
