It was the surprise in the middle of the jungle fever: RTL announced the return of “7 days, 7 heads”. The new edition of the cult comedy will be moderated by Guido Cantz.

It was a must on Friday evening: When Rudi Carrell invited to the weekly review of the cult show “7 Days, 7 Heads” from 1996 to 2002, not a dry eye stayed. RTL has now announced that it will relaunch the show.

The tension on Monday evening was great: Twitter had already indicated in the afternoon that there would be a surprise in the evening, and speculation quickly arose. Then at 10:25 p.m. the resolution: In a first trailer, the new moderator Guido Cantz was able to announce the return of the classic as a “world sensation” in the run-up to the jungle camp: the new edition “7 days, 7 heads” will be the first on February 3rd Go on the air.

Cast is still secret

The broadcaster has not yet revealed which guests will accompany the week satirically with Cantz. “The cast is spectacular,” the moderator only promised in the teaser so far. RTL has so far left uncommented initial speculation about occupation by other media. As in the past, the broadcaster will probably again rely on a mixture of regular guests and changing comedians.

Cantz and his guests have big shoes to fill. With producer Rudi Carrell, moderator Jochen Busse and popular regulars such as Mike Krüger, Gaby Köster and Kalle Pohl, the show had been hugely successful for years in its first run. And it went so well that Carrell gave up on his initial plan of only being on stage for seven episodes – and ended up staying for almost seven years.

Of noses and caravans

The former fans should be particularly excited to see which running gags will play out this time. The charm of the first edition was also that some jokes were repeated again and again in different variants at the expense of the guests. Particularly popular examples are jokes about Mike Krüger’s nose or the Dutch caravans. Carrell also liked to joke about his hearing aid. The old episodes are streamed on RTL+.

During its runtime until December 2005, the first edition was extremely successful, ensuring high ratings and numerous prizes such as a Golden Lion, a Bambi and the German Comedy Prize. For numerous guests such as Oliver Welcke or Gaby Köster, it is one of the most important career steps.
