Los Angeles – Hollywood mourns the acting legend Betty White († 99, “Golden Girls”, “The bride is herself”). Now comes out what happened the days before her death on December 31st.

According to the US portal “TMZ”, the popular actress died of a stroke that she suffered almost a week before her death

The cause of death is listed on the death certificate as a “cerebrovascular accident”, which led to a loss of blood supply to the brain, causing damage to the brain tissue.

Betty White suffered the stroke 6 days before her death, according to authorities. Sources unspecified report the paper: “Betty was awake and clear-minded after the stroke, and she died peacefully at home in her sleep.”

Betty White was a fixture on television for more than 75 years. She was one of the oldest active actresses in Hollywood – and one of the most humorous. In 2019 she worked as a voice actress in “Toy Story 4” and appeared in a US Christmas television film in 2020.

On December 31, two and a half weeks before her 100th birthday, her death caused grief around the world. Many stars said goodbye to the cheerful actress on social media.

BUT: There will probably not be a public funeral with the participation of friends and colleagues.

Why not? White didn’t want people to make a lot of fuss about her. Her long-time manager Jeff Witjas revealed this on Friday on the US show “Inside Edition”.

The funeral will therefore be very private and small. Until recently, he saw White as “optimistic and humorous,” according to Vitjas. You read a lot and put puzzles together.

There will still be a public farewell: On January 17th, a long-planned film about White’s life will be shown in hundreds of cinemas in the USA. Colleagues like Ryan Reynolds (45), Robert Redford (85), Clint Eastwood (91) and Carol Burnett (88) have their say.

The city of Oak Park in the US state of Illinois – this is where White was born on January 17, 1922 – wants to commemorate the actress with a small celebration on the weekend before her 100th birthday.
