A 57-year-old mountaineer from Munich died trying to descend from the Brecherspitz summit near Schliersee. As reported by the Miesbach police, according to initial findings, the man probably came from the summit over the east ridge and crashed in the rocky terrain. In doing so, he sustained fatal injuries.
The family had already reported the man missing because he had had no sign of life since July 19. During a major search operation using a drone and police helicopter, the Schliersee mountain rescue service and the alpine police task force, the body was found and recovered on Sunday.
