5,000 pallets of frozen products go up in smoke in a logistics warehouse

Paradoxically, the fire took on pallets of frozen products. The firefighters of Haute-Garonne were alerted at the end of the morning on Wednesday to this disaster affecting a logistics company, specializing in cold, in the Eurocentre zone, north of Toulouse. The employees had all been evacuated when they arrived. But the extinguishing operation proved to be complicated due to the characteristics of the premises: a cold room “of 3,600 m2, cooled to -17°C”.

It took 13 vehicles and around 50 firefighters to put out the flames. The departmental fire and rescue center indicates this Thursday afternoon that the fire is now out. It ravaged “5,000 pallets of food products” and led to the technical unemployment of around twenty employees, before a possible redeployment to other sites of the STEF group.
