48 kg of cocaine and Kalashnikovs seized by the police in the Gard

On August 11, a large operation led by the narcotics brigade of the Territorial Directorate of Judicial Police (DTPJ) of Montpellier led to the seizure of 48 kg of cocaine in a property in Saint-Hippolyte-du-Fort, in the Gard. This represents more than 2 million euros in sales value, says the regional daily Free lunch.

During this operation, three people were arrested and taken into custody. Two Kalashnikov assault rifles were also found by the police during the search of the property. The investigation into this drug trafficking network would have started last spring.

An investigating judge of the specialized interregional court (Jirs) from Marseille has been appointed to take up the case. Among the suspects arrested, two would actually be relatives of a personality of regional banditry, indicted and imprisoned within the framework of a vast traffic of waste.
