45GR65DC and 45GR75DC: LG releases smaller ultrawide monitors

LG is releasing two new monitors in 32:9 format. The 45GR65DC and 45GR75DC However, they are slightly smaller than the well-known 49-inch displays. Instead, the monitors measure 45 inches diagonally. So they correspond to two 24-inch monitors next to each other. The resolution of 5,120 x 1,440 pixels is adopted directly from the larger models.

The only difference between the two monitors is the ability to transmit more energy via Power Delivery. The 45GR75DC is rated for 90 watts, while the 45GR65DC does not support that. Otherwise both monitors are identical. Customers pay $100 more for the feature.

Both monitors use a 1500R curved VA panel with a refresh rate of 200 Hz. The brightness is specified as 400 cd/m². The DCI-P3 color space should also be covered by 95 percent. The screens would also be suitable in the media sector. With AMD Freesync Premium Pro and a low switching latency of 1 ms, it is more likely to appeal to gaming enthusiasts.

Ergonomically adjustable stand

The monitors come with a removable stand. It can be adjusted in height by 110 mm, tilted by 20 degrees and swiveled by 30 degrees. A pivot mode is not provided, but it would be rather unergonomic with a 32:9 display. Using a Vesa mount (100 x 100 mm), the panel can also be hung on the wall or another stand.

There is a DisplayPort connection and two HDMI 2.1 ports on the back of the case. The monitor can also be connected via USB-C. A separate USB hub offers two USB-A ports. However, there must be space for a separate USB cable on the host system.

LG is initially offering the two monitors in the USA. The 45GR65DC costs $800, while the USB Power Delivery-equipped 45GR75DC costs $900.
