So that you can grasp the time a little better: When the dead pants, 1982, Helmut Schmidt was Chancellor for a moment. The Commodore 64 came out and shortly after that 🙂 was invented. Punk, on the other hand, was already in this strange gray area: on the one hand, it was still fresh and suitable for scaring people off at supper. On the other hand, but also almost dead again shortly after birth. And in the middle of it all, the Düsseldorf band, today one of the biggest stadium rock bands in the country – and possibly even reconciled with this status. They’re celebrating the anniversary with what would be called an “anthology” in pop-culturally blessed countries: formative songs from 40 years, some of which have really aged extremely well. There are also a few new tracks that you probably wouldn’t say the same about. But who knows.
