4 departments placed on orange vigilance by Météo France

Four departments were placed on rain-flood alert on Thursday by Météo-France, which stressed that the disturbance that arrived on Wednesday will continue its path towards the east of the country.

The orange rain flood vigilance extends to two new departments in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region this Thursday according to the latest bulletin of Meteo France. These are Ain and Isère for “an event starting at 4 p.m.”. Drôme and Ardèche are affected by this orange vigilance from 2 p.m.

“The active disturbance which will bring very strong accumulations to the center-east in the second part of the day, extends at 5 a.m. this Thursday, from Vendée to Normandy”, also specifies Météo France. Furthermore, “showers still affect the Mediterranean regions and slightly spill over into the Cévennes, but without major consequences.”

At daybreak, temperatures will range from 10 degrees in the interior of Brittany to 15 to 17 in the southern half, 17 to 20 on the shores of the Mediterranean. The maximums will be 16 to 24 degrees in the northern half of France and 26 to 27 on the Alsace plain, 22 to 26 further south and 25 to 28 around the Mediterranean.

In recent hours, significant cumulative rainfall has been measured in the northwest: 50 millimeters of rain in Vannes, 46 in Auray (Morbihan) and 43 in Chapelle-Bouëxic (Ille-et-Vilaine). In the south-east of the country, these cumulative amounts reached 51 and 48 millimeters respectively in Pégomas and Antibes (Alpes-Maritimes).
