“365 Days: This Day” will be released in April. Netflix is now giving the first glimpses of the controversial erotic film sequel.

In 2020, the erotic film “365 Days” caused a stir and became a mega hit for Netflix – despite harsh criticism. Now fans of the Polish production can get a first look at the sequel “365 Days”. The streaming provider released a first trailer for the filmwhich will be available on Netflix as early as April 27th.

In it you can see: The couple Laura (Anna Maria Sieklucka) and Massimo (Michele Morrone), whose life is made more difficult by his family and a mysterious second man. The latter is apparently trying to win her heart and trust. As in the first part, the makers once again rely on a lot of bare skin and revealing sex scenes. The overwhelmingly devastating response from critics dismissed the first part as high-gloss soft porn – but it still became a huge success.

Films based on novel trilogy

The story of the “365 Days” films is based on the novel trilogy by the Polish writer Blanka Lipinska (36), which has repeatedly been compared to the book and film series “50 Shades of Grey”. In Lipinska’s work, a young Polish woman is held captive by an Italian mafia boss. He gives her a year to fall in love with him. Critics of the novel and the first film denounced that they felt the story would romanticize sexual assault and rape.

A petition was even launched at the time, asking Netflix to remove the film from the platform. Several well-known personalities also wrote a letter of complaint to Netflix boss Reed Hastings (61), including British singer Duffy (37). The “Mercy” interpreter was once a victim of sexual violence herself.
