Ex-national player Max Kruse’s contract with SC Paderborn could be terminated shortly. SCP Sport managing director Benjamin Weber suggests this in a reaction to a media report.

Second division football team SC Paderborn has reacted to media reports that former national players Max Kruse is about to terminate his contract. This could actually follow soon.

“In coordination with the club, Max Kruse is currently undergoing rehabilitation in Berlin,” said Paderborn’s sports director Benjamin Weber when asked. “Regardless of this, the sporting situation has not developed in the desired form for both sides. With this in mind, we are working together on a solution to shape the way forward.”

On Tuesday evening, the “Reviersport” portal reported that the contract between the SCP and Kruse would be terminated promptly. The 35-year-old is said to have already said goodbye to his teammates via WhatsApp.

Kruse made a surprise move to Paderborn last summer after being dropped from VfL Wolfsburg a year ago. The 14-time German selection player has only played five games for East Westphalia so far. He repeatedly had problems due to injuries.
